The good news: a solar array has no engine, no oil, nothing to wear out monthly. The honest news: neglect still costs you 5–15% of production. Here is the routine we teach every customer.

Monthly (30 minutes)

  • Rinse the panels early morning or evening — never spray cold water on hot glass. Soft brush for bird droppings; they cause hot-spots.
  • Check the app. Compare this month's generation to the same month last year. A sudden drop means shade, soiling, or a fault.
  • Look and listen at the inverter: green light, no error codes, vents free of dust and wasp nests.

Yearly (professional visit)

  • Torque-check DC and AC terminations (loose lugs are the #1 fire cause).
  • Thermal-scan the array for hot cells.
  • Test earthing and surge protection.
  • Inspect structure bolts and roof penetrations for corrosion.

Every Sun Power Solution installation includes first-year service free, and our O&M plans keep institutional plants at contract-guaranteed performance ratios.
